Villa Badoer, also known as “La Badoera,” is a Venetian villa located in Fratta Polesine, in the municipality of Rovigo. Designed by architect Andrea Palladio between 1554 and 1555, its construction was completed between 1556 and 1563 on commission from Francesco Badoer. The villa is one of Palladio’s most significant works, featuring a grand pronaos with a pediment and semicircular “barchessa” that encircle the main building, creating a striking visual effect.
Inside, the noble floor rooms are decorated with frescoes by Pierfrancesco Giallo Fiorentino, famous for their “grotesques of beautiful invention.”
